The earth is a wonder which we're still discovering and sometimes just marvelling at. Ocean, land and sky is part of life as we know it, everyday, and we can only but enjoy and appreciate the magnificence of the beautiful planet we live on.

Mysterious Forest
This image was taken at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia. What an awesome place to wander around - majestic trees surround you forming a dense canopy high overhead. This place cannot be portrayed by any means except to experience it yourself. Something else to experience here are the ever present little flying creatures that leave their mark on you. 30 bites on one arm will remind you of them, mosquites, quazillions of them breeding in this high humidity forest.

Yoyogi Park, Tokyo
Spent some time in this beautiful park early one winter morning. The park also provides a place for some homeless people using the park to sleep over. In South Africa this would make an ideal camping site, except for the city surrounding you on all four sides. These people make you long back to your own country with their tents out in the open. The difference is that they are not on vacation and can't afford one either. Photographing in the park attracks some curious onlookers in the trees. At one stage I was surrounded by about 100 crows, this added to the mysterious feeling of this place. This man slept on a bench and the first priority when he woke up was to take his morning puff.

Hope
We had the privilege to live in Japan for a few months during 2010/2011 and what an experience it was! We stayed in Ikebukuro (Tokyo) next to one of the train stations used by 3 000 000 people everyday. The culture is truly unique in so many ways and radically different from anything that we have experienced before. That's not even mentioning the language barrier between Japan and the western world. Their food is absolutely wonderful and is evidence that they also have a different taste for life... The people, food, culture and country is something that will always remain with us. These respectful people have a special place in our hearts. 5 days after we left Japan we heard the news of a magnitude 9.0 earthquake that shook the country, also creating a devastating tsunami.
Himalaya Mountains
Flying always puts a different perspective on things and gives you a different outlook on life. Everything seems so tiny and even problems we face in life suddenly seem smaller in those moments. Seeing things from above are so beautiful and once again you are reminded of how small we are in the bigger picture. One of the most beautiful places to observe from the air must be the Himilayas covered in snow. This scene will always remain in my mind's library.
